The Records Appointment
The Records Appointment is an important part of the
orthodontic treatment program. At this appointment two
X-Rays are taken called a Cephalogram and a Panorex.
The necessary orthodontic records consist of the following:
 |
 |
|
Cephalogram |
Panorex |

- The Cephalogram is an x-ray of the entire skull and shows the
bone structure and profile of the patient.
- The Panorex shows the structure of the inside of the mouth and of the
teeth.
- Impressions are also taken of the teeth. These are kept
as a permanent record of the teeth.
- Photos are taken of the face, the profile and the inside of
the patient's mouth.
The records are needed to assist the doctor in
determining the treatment plan, how and when to move the teeth so
as to create the optimal facial harmony and ideal occlusion. |
